Small Groups

BUMC offers a variety of small group options to fit various interests and schedules. They are a wonderful way to come together in fellowship while creating closer relationships with God, as well as with one another. Below are images of some of our small groups from the church.

2019 Advent Small Groups

No matter how hard you try to make the Christmas season merry and bright, do you still sometimes feel there’s something missing? In Almost Christmas: A Wesleyan Advent Experience, we’ll explore over 4 weeks how we can make a commitment to Christ during Advent, and connect to our Wesleyan heritage with the traditional themes of peace, hope, love and joy.  Join us as we seek to grow in our love for Jesus and one another this Advent season.  Click here to register.

2020 Small Group Opportunities

The Year of the Bible

Have you ever wanted to read the entire Bible, but never made it past Leviticus?  Join a group of committed friends as we journey through the Bible in a year with the help of a reading guide and periodic check-in meetings with Rev June.  If you can commit to about 20 minutes of reading a day you can do this! Make 2020 the year to accomplish your goal. Reading begins January 1, 2020. Please register no later than December 24.

The Bible Tells Me So

Do you have questions about how to read the Bible?  Do you ever feel like God behaves differently in the OT vs NT? What are we supposed to do with this holy book that at times seems to contradict itself, and what wisdom does it have to offer us today?  Join us for a 4-week ZOOM study to address these questions and more.  This class is video based, there is no weekly reading; just log in and join the discussion once a week from 8-9 pm: Jan 14, 21, 28 & Feb 4. Register by January 12.
