The United Methodist Hymnal tells us all we need to know about the place of singing in worship in the very front through Wesley’s instructions on singing: Sing lustily and with a good courage. Beware of singing as if you were half dead, or half asleep; but lift up your voice with strength… Have an eye to God in every word you sing… so shall your singing be such as the Lord will approve here, and reward you when he cometh in the clouds of heaven.
So yeah… we like to sing. There is a place for you to share your gifts and grow your musical talent here at Bridgewater United Methodist Church.
Do you play an instrument? Foundation, our Praise and Worship team, is always looking for new energy. Do you sing? The Chancel Choir is the place for traditional hymns sung boldly, while the Lyric and Cherub Choirs provide space for kids to learn and share the songs of the faith. Would you like to learn how to ring in a bell choir? Children as young as elementary school are invited to participate.
