Young Family Ministry
Our Young Family Ministry serves as a group at BUMC for families who have children ranging in age from birth through 5th grade. Our events are comprised of a mix of fellowship, service and spiritual opportunities. This group, and its events, allows families with young children to deepen their relationships with God so that they may become more fully involved in BUMC and the body of Christ.

You don’t have to be a member of the congregation to participate and our activities are a welcoming and relaxed place to try out a small group at the church. Come grow with us!

For more information about any of these events, please contact the Young Families Ministry Coordinator, Jen Schaber.

Youth
Youth in sixth grade through high school are invited into one of our youth fellowships. For sixth through eighth grade, youth are a part of the Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF). The JYF meets weekly on alternating Wednesday nights during the school year for youth group as well as monthly service opportunities in Bridgewater and beyond.  We hold fun activities like laser tag and more, and a week long mission project in July.

Typically, both our JYF and MYF groups participate in a summer mission trip.  Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the youth will not be able to attend participate in a mission trip this year.

During the summer of 2019 the JYF visited the Philly Project.  Here, the youth, along with their advisors and director, worked on repairing a home! What a wonderful way to work in mission together and share Christ’s love with those around them! The MYF traveled to West Virginia for their summer mission trip.

Please contact Andi Semler, for more information.

Virtual Sunday School
Virtual Sunday School is offered to students in preschool through 12th grade.  All of our teachers are volunteers (and a few have a teaching/school-based background) who love to work with kids and help them with their faith journey. Please contact Veronica Sydlowski to register or to volunteer.

Church Nursery
Our youngest disciples are invited into our Church Nursery each week.  Children ages 3 and under are greeted by the smiling faces of our Childcare Professionals each week.  Our childcare providers are on staff here at BUMC and have completed a background check as well as the Safe Sanctuary Training.

*Due to ongoing restrictions, our Church Nursery is currently closed.

Terrific Tuesday
Terrific Tuesday is a great way for children to become involved in worship and performing arts. We currently have musical choirs for 3 year-olds and above and a liturgical dance team.

Terrific Tuesday rehearsals will return on September 15th, and will alternate between virtual and in-person gatherings. On virtual days, Cherubs will log onto our private Facebook page for a live session with Miss Beth, while our Lyric Choir and Little Angels will have their rehearsals via Zoom.

Reach out to Jen Schaber for more info.

Sermon Time Activities
Sermon Time Activities are available for children ages 3-10 during our 10:30 am contemporary service. Giving children the opportunity to participate in Sermon Time Activities allows the parents to fully focus on the sermon while the children enjoy a hands-on activity in the Narthex and receive a similar message in an age appropriate way.

Moms, dads, youth and congregation members are encouraged to volunteer to help us with this great program.

Please note that volunteers, 18 years of age and older, must be have completed the Safe Sanctuary training, as well as a background check.

Reach out to Jen Schaber for more info.

As we are worshiping from home during this time, we invite you to visit our Young Families Page for Sermon Time From Home Activities.
